It’s official, the Puglia Yoga Retreat, PRESENCE+PRACTICE+PUGLIA Year 3 has been announced!
✨OCTOBER 3-9, 2026✨
I want to share here why this retreat, in this venue, in this region is so important to me.
I began visiting Puglia during my first year of college after becoming friends with one of my closest friends, Chiara. She shared stories about everyone baking focaccia for Easter, with the streets filled with the aroma of bakeries. She talked about Panzerotti nights, when friends gathered at one of their Masserias (farmhouses) to fry endless Panzerotti while dancing by the pool. Chiara described cheese maker farms where you could get freshly made burrata, ricotta, and mozzarella (nodini) from that morning. Spending the entire day at the beach, enjoying an octopus sandwich, and then heading to clubs, grabbing warm focaccia or croissants on the way home at 4 am. I just had to experience it for myself. The reality surpassed her stories, and I've returned every year since. While living in Italy, I never missed her birthday on July 31st. Chiara officiated my wedding, and her speech was all about my love for Puglia's food, my constant eating (especially taralli), and my eagerness to try all the incredible dishes.
This is what I cherish about this retreat. I want to offer participants the same gift Chiara gave me. I want to witness their amazement when they bite into a Panzerotto or taste a sea urchin for the first time, just as I did 20 years ago. This retreat is my way of merging my two passions, Yoga and Food, because ultimately, both bring happiness, whether to the soul or the stomach. Food plays a central role throughout this week. From the delightful breakfast provided by the Masseria (homemade cakes and cookies, fresh fruit, and cheeses) to culinary experiences like the pasta class or the olive oil tasting and picnic in the olive tree grove. Food has a magical ability to unite people, fostering connections and often forming new friendships.
Masseria Mozzone is the place where I got married, and every time I step into its expansive courtyard, I am transported back to that unforgettable day, September 10, 2022. Loving memories with our Italian and American friends, our families, and our daughter.
This retreat is not just about Yoga, is about the people who join it, about food and exploration of this beautiful region, about pausing and live the moment, spending time with strangers that maybe, after a week, will become your friends.
